When you don't get enough sleep, gulping an extra large latte the next morning is not the smartest way to stay awake. Caffeine levels in your brain will rise in the morning then fall by the afternoon, when your urge to snooze is stronger. Instead, sip smaller "doses" of caffeinated beverages throughout the day a quarter cup every hours. This strategy helped sleep deprived research subjects stay more alert and so better on mental tasks.....
