'Bad Habits"

Overeating and lying down after meals do trigger heartburn, so avoid that... Don't sit or lie down after a heavy meal; take a walk instead. Try to eat at least two to three hours before lying down... And yes, your choice of foods can lead to that burning sensation. Avoid or cut down on the following: citrus fruits, tomato products, chocolates, mints, or peppermints, fatty foods or spicy foods like pizza, chili curry, onions alcohol, coffee both regular and decaffeinated and other drinks that contain caffeine. Stress and cigarette smoking are also triggers. Pregnancy also invites heartburn, with the uterus pressing upwards against the stomach. Aspirin, ibuprofen, and other medicines can also cause heartburn. Check first with your doctor............
