"When you're bored - besides eat"

MID AFTERNOON SLUMP
>Make a plan - it may seem like an odd move, but its best to plan your dinner during afternoon break. Most people have trouble with dinner. If you don't have a plan when you come in the door, you're likely to eat whatever in sight.
>Play games - online games keep your hand busy and away from food. No computer access? Work on a crossword puzzle...
>Tea up - instead of your 3:00 pm snack, have a big cup of tea....

LIGHT-NIGHT CRAVINGS
>Do some hands-on Pampering - give yourself a manicure to keep your hands distracted. Or make a homemade face mask: Mash half a banana, then mix two tablespoons of yogurt and one tablespoon honey. Apply to your face, let it work its magic, then rinse off after 15 minutes.
>Picture this - create an online photo album to share with family and friends.
>Sew simple - keep little sewing projects nearby when you're watching your favorite shown. Knitting works well too.

LAZY WEEKENDS
>Get out - if you don't have any plans, sticking around the house will make you eat all day. Get out of the house and take a walk.
>Make it over - get up and rearrange your furniture for a quick room do over. Or try perking up your bookshelf by rearranging books by color.
>Organize - tackle a small organizing project - towels in the closet, files, shoes anything other than the pantry.
>Be animal friendly - take the dog for a walk and get in some good exercise or brush the cat to keep your hands busy. When all else fails, let the cat fall asleep on you lap so you can't get up and go to the fridge!

"Leg exercise you need"

Toning your legs doesn't require hour s at the gym, endless lunges, or the pricey gadgets sold on TV. For big results focus on one essential exercise: Ball squats; "Hands down, they are the best," This one move hits your glutes, quads and hamstrings. what you need a wall; an inflatable exercise ball (at sporting-goods stores) and your own body weight. How to begin stand facing away from the wall and place the ball between it and your buttocks. Leaning back against the ball to hold it in place, position your feet slightly in front of you, about shoulder width apart. The move bend your knees to lower yourself into a squat position. (The ball should roll up you back as you do this) Hold for one count, then return to the starting position. How many to do you can start slow, but aimfor two sets of 15 to 20 repetitions two to three times a week, If you get good and want to challenge yourself hold dumbbells as you squat.

"Diet Mistake"

You were so good all week. But then you snack a donuts...... and then another. To get back on track quickly..... In every diet - for me it's after the first ten pounds when you start to slack off a little. You skip lunch one Saturday and later that night at a restaurant with your friends you're so re venous that you order the salad, the soup, the entree and two glasses of chardonnay. Uh-oh, you think, I've blown it. And then you really blow it by sampling half the dessert cart.

To avoid facing the bad news, you go incommunicado with your scale. Feeling defeated, you begin to slack off even more and before you know it, those 10 pounds are back. Now have to muster the motivation to lose that stubborn weight all over again.

Can you say yo-yo dieting? It's a cycle,f but it's not unbreakable. The first step toward success: Learn how to deal with setbacks. I always tell people to fail fast - the idea is to recognize your error but avoid wallowing in it," One mistake isn't going to reverse everything you've worked for....

"Burn Fat Faster"

For minimum fat burning, focus on your form. Walking correctly engages more muscles, which then use up more calories. The main rules: Don't stare at the pavement - stand tall, with your chin up. Do bend your elbows and pump your arms, so your first swing in an arc. Do spring off your toes push off as if you're trying to display the soles of your shoes to someone behind you. And don't forget to stay hydrated.

How to speed up your step;

Pump your arms if you move them quickly, your feet will follow. Plus, you burn more calories when your upper body is in full swing.

Put gravity to work Tilting forward slightly will quicken your pace. The trick is to find just the right angle for your body, and then stay in that position as you walk. To get just enough of a tilt: keep your feet planted and your body perfectly straight; then slowly lean forward from your ankles until you must take a step or you'll fall. That's the spot to shoot for.

Tighten your tummy while walking squeeze your abdominal muscles as though you were trying to fit into your skinny jeans. This simple move saves you energy so you can walk longer.

Take baby step long strides actually slow you down: as your heel hits the ground it acts like a brake. Instead, take swift short steps rolling from heel to toe.

"Go Ahead-Waste your time"

Guilt begone: here, the hidden benefits of all that avoiding procrastinating and dithering.
Day Dreaming: might feel like the ultimate of time, but its just the opposite. During day dreaming your brain may actually be processing important issues that aren't relevant at that immediate moment anything from strategist about tonight dinner to wondering abut your kids mysterious bug bites so forgive yourself for spacing out during that boring PTA meeting. Though you may not even be aware of it, you've got other things on your mind.
Napping: does a mind and body good, a 15 to 20 minutes snooze can make you more alert and energized and improve your stamina and longer naps can even help you learn and retain information better. That's all the excuse you need to rest those dropping eyelids for a minutes.
Messiness: is in the eye of the beholder. Just because your idea of "organized" is scattered or mixed up doesn't mean you're necessarily slower or less efficient; you many just have you own system. And if you're naturally a little sloppy, what really wastes time is struggling to maintain strict order. Sure, always searching for your keys isn't exactly time efficient, but think of the treasures you'll discover in the depth of your bog.

"SHAKE OFF THE SALT AND LIVE A GOODLIFE"

When served with gloriously delicious good at times we embrace such gastronomic delight without thinking that as we fill our palates with appetizing flavors, we just may be taking in food that may not be necessarily good for our bodies. The food choices we make today can have an impact on our state of health tomorrow.

Filipinos can be considered a "seasoning" race, from having a trickle of the bottled fish sauce (patis) to spice up a dish to relishing that salty shrimp paste (bagoong) that complements green mango slices, which explains why salt has been an integral ingredients in making food more appealing to us. But we need to remind ourselves that the more sodium we incorporate in our diet, the higher the risk we have of developing hypertension.
