for a crystal clear pool

If you own a swimming pool, you must be concerned about the quality of the water present in it. Water contaminated with debris like sand, dirt, or animal matter causes harm to your skin and also affects your health. Installing a swimming pool filter is one of the best solutions for this problem. Hayward swimming pool filters provide the perfect solution for all your ‘aquatic’ problems in a hassle-free manner.

Hayward mainly has three varieties of filters on offer for swimming pool owners. The basic structure of these filters remains almost the same. The main distinction between them is made based on the filtering material used. There are sand filters, cartridge filters and the Diatomaceous Earth (D.E) filters. Let’s have a closer look at these filters, shall we?

Sand filters: Hayward has various sand filters on offer for pool owners. These include the Pro™ Series Plus, Pro™ Series Side-Mount model, Pro™ Series Top-Mount model and the highly popular S200 Series. The filters look stylish and require minimal maintenance to ensure cost-effective, high grade performance.

Hayward sand filters contain special pool grade (#20) silica sand having a diameter of .45 mm to .55 mm. This type of sand is made up of sharp-edged particles that break down and trap finer debris present in water. The filters can trap particles as small as 20 to 40 microns in diameter.

Cartridge filters: Hayward offers several high quality cartridge filters to pool owners, including the Star-Clear™, Star-Clear™ Plus and SwimClear™, along with high grade replacement cartridges.

The cartridge filters provide greater cleaning surface by passing water through large cartridges. The cartridge traps large debris to begin with and gradually starts removing even smaller size debris as the pores start getting clogged. It can trap and remove debris as small as 10 to 15 microns in diameter. The cartridge element can be cleaned easily by removing it and running water through it in reverse direction under pressure with a garden hose.

Diatomaceous Earth (D.E) filters: Hayward provides a wide range of Diatomaceous Earth (D.E) filters to pool owners. The range on offer includes products like Perflex® - Extended-Cycle, Pro-Grid™ - Vertical Grid and Vertical Grid Filter Accessories.

D.E. filters contain a special kind of powdered earth that has microscopic sponge-like openings in it. It can remove particles as small as 10 to 15 microns in diameter, including dust and algae. The filter can be cleaned by running water through it in reverse direction. After some months of usage, the earth in the filter should be discarded and new earth should be put into it to ensure peak performance.

These filters make your pool water dirt-free and crystal clear. The easy to clean structure and minimal maintenance costs make these units indispensable for your very own swimming pool. Buy one today!
